The Matthew Williamson Garden at Blakes
Matthew’s tropical courtyard at Blakes has just re-opened for the summer. The Financial Times’ How To Spend It commented: “Blakes is known as much for the privacy it provides celebrity guests as for the exotic influences behind its Anouska Hempel interiors. Bringing these two elements out into its garden this summer, Matthew has reimagined the courtyard space as a tropical hideaway.”
“A vivacious mural lights up the back wall… While a gold-domed birdcage makes for a fabulous focal point.”
Meanwhile, Tatler have chosen it as one of their top venues for alfresco dining this summer. Read more about his inspiration for the design here and be sure to tag pictures of your visit with #MWblakes. Here’s to the summer!
“As you’d expect it’s a riot of colour and whimsy, with graphic murals, a tumbling flower wall and an enormous gold birdcage at one end. The ideal spot for drinking martinis.”
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and cakes and early evening drinks will be served in the garden from 8am until 8pm.

“A lush oasis where you can enjoy an early-morning coffee in forgotten corners brought to life with oversized ferns and tropical plants.”
