The Duchess Garden Print
Blossom, peonies, roses… Woodpeckers, doves and blue tits… A flourishing British garden springs to life in this hand-painted print. Inspired by the Duchess Garden at Belvoir Castle, the studio set to recreating its colour and life by painting by hand. The four acre garden was rediscovered in 1970 by Frances, the Dowager Duchess of Rutland. It had been neglected since World War II. Today, it features a multitude of unusual trees and shrubs. It is a delightful hidden corner of the stately home’s land, which truly struck Matthew’s imagination on his research trips. Available now in the parachute gown, the hero piece of the collection, as well as silk separates and even stationery for your summer party planning.
