The Animal Ball 2016
Last night, Matthew gathered his closest friends for a very special dinner at Balthazar. The dinner preceded the Animal Ball, a gala event hosted by the Elephant Family. Matthew was commissioned by the charity to design a mask for guests, joining brands like Chloe, Jimmy Choo and Burberry. He chose a butterfly, Narissa, which flew between bear, bird and even unicorn headpieces for the evening.
The table was adorned with bespoke menus and place cards printed to match the mask, created by our friends at Papier. Between courses of salmon en croute and creme caramel, feasting was momentarily interrupted by the arrival of a baboon (real or not, we couldn’t quite tell) who called us all to the ball. So it was off to Victoria House for a night of dancing in a masked menagerie. All in the name of a very good cause.
“I’m thrilled to be supporting The Animal Ball. I’m so happy to be on board, helping this wonderful, unique initiative.”
The success and profile of this year’s Animal Ball is essential to power the work of small orientated NGOs and save some of the world’s most iconic yet threatened species. The night aims to raise over £1 million net to solve human-animal conflict and the issues facing wildlife in our overcrowded world. For more information visit www.theanimalball.org
