The English Rose Shows: Sheer

Call me a tease – yes please to this trend.

Matthew Williamson Rose SS14 Sheer TrendIs she? Isn’t she? I love to keep them guessing, and there’s nothing like summer’s trend for featherlight sheer silks to catch the eye and intrigue the mind with a hint of mischief. The runway look used embroidery or wisely-placed prints, panels and pockets to hide what lies beneath.

Play up the peekaboo effect, and tone down the transparency, for the easiest take on the trend. An intricate print will conceal your modesty and reveal just the right amount of skin. The multi-coloured dragonflies on this chiffon shirt will flit through the fabric as you flirt with a glimpse of flesh. Dip your toes in the style with a demure slip underneath (the shirt dress comes with one).

For evening, wild botanicals have been hand-sewn through this t-shirt gown. Poppy emulated the runway on the red carpet with hot pants and bralet beneath. Follow her fashion-forward lead or cover up with a slip. Point is, the perfectly placed patterns will tempt as much as they tease.

The games fashion plays… They make my day.

With love,

The English Rose
