The Wild Botanical Jeans
Jeans were never going to be dull off-duty denims in the hands of the studio. Neither was monochrome going to be anything but multi-dimensional. Instead, an abundance of blooms burst forth across the sun-bleached denim.
Taking the naive prints of the collection, the studio created the same florals through specialised embroidery techniques, with 3,000 metres of silk thread to illustrate the flowers stitch by stitch. Petals have been crafted from hand-rolled organza and clusters of black raffia. Towards the ankle cuffs, daisy doodles first drawn by hand have now been hand-sewn. 22,000 crystals and beads were the final touch. This meticulous process took 130 hours to complete – bejewelling the botanicals and elevating the jeans to covetable couture.
Jeans and a T-shirt. Suddenly not such a casual proposition.
