H&M Collaboration 2009
Back in May 2009, the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection landed: a signature peacock print was projected onto Marble Arch, Daria Werbowy – dynamically shot by Sølve Sundsbø -emblazoned London buses and crowds queued around the block. The first collection encapsulated the Matthew Williamson trajectory- a lifestyle brand with an urban, sexy edge. It was a capsule range to take the city girl from morning through to evening with tailored pieces. Then the second collection arrived in June. Matthew looks back on the design process – “The H&M team were so easy to work with. I’d find a swatch of fabric that I liked, propose it to them, and they would come back with something even better. The quality was amazing. Anything was possible.”

It was the perfect summer holiday wardrobe – a little bit more relaxed, a little bit more bohemian; full of colour and print, pattern and texture. A very ‘Matthew’ collection.
