Sleek parquet floors, a monochrome colour scheme and an intricately patterned ethnic rug as centrepiece. When researching the winter collection, Matthew was first inspired by an apartment from a 1970s interiors magazine.
“The interiors seemed so modern and relevant for today. We then tried to envisage the owner of the home, her lifestyle and her wardrobe…”
He imagined a life of global travel, endless hosting, myriad friends. Anita Pallenberg, Jerry Hall, Angelica Houston… She had the fun-loving, free spirit of all these women but something uniquely her own. One thing was undoubted – her wardrobe was exquisite. It was a curated edit she has collected over the decades – the cosy jumper for a ski chalet, the evening gown for New Year, the slinky jumpsuit for the disco. Matthew and the studio set about designing just these pieces for the modern woman.
An atmosphere of relaxed glamour pervades the collection’s campaign, shot by Rhys Frampton. Prints and textures layer the set with a distinctive ethnic Moroccan carpet referencing the rug that first triggered Matthew’s creative process.
Lisa Potter-Dixon shares her take on the make-up look – “With the clothes being so spectacular, I wanted to keep the make-up luxe and flawless. Great bone definition teamed with dewy skin gave a flattering and structured finish to compliment the lines of the clothes. I teamed this with a rich, bronzed smokey eye to add warmth and glamour. Dewy, nude lips added a modern feel.”
