15th Anniversary Film Screening with Swarovski
Matthew celebrated his 15th anniversary last night with an exclusive screening of his short film XV at Nobu Berkeley St in association with Swarovski. Nadja Swarovski co-hosted the event, and the film’s stars Poppy Delevingne, Charlie Siddick and Valentine Fillol-Cordier, as well as Matthew’s friends Cat Deeley, Tallulah Harlech, Yasmin Le Bon and Natalie Massenet all joined him to celebrate this special milestone. With DJ Scarlett Etienne on the decks, Nobu served canapés along with CIROC ultra-premium vodka Lychee Martinis.
Before the screening, Joseph Velosa, CEO of Matthew Williamson, and Matthew spoke about the film and thanked sponsors and the team for their support. Joseph commented, “The biggest thank you goes to Matthews parents, who are here tonight. The freedom and encouragement you gave Matthew to pursue his dreams whilst reminding him to keep his feet firmly on the ground has been the main inspiration for this film. This film is dedicated to you and all that you have done in the story so far… ”
The special short film stars Sienna Milller, Poppy Delevingne and Andrea Riseborough, directed by Tell No One. Shot at the imposing 17th century country house, Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire, the film features eight ballerinas from the Royal Ballet, choreographed by the acclaimed Wayne McGregor, founder of Wayne McGregor | Random Dance. With original script by Mark Whelan, the collaborative film makers Luke White and Remi Weekes created the mini movie as a snapshot into the imagination of a 15-year-old Williamson, dreaming up his very own fashion fantasy with a very down-to-earth twist at the end. It will launch on NET-A-PORTER and Swarovski.tv on the 31st October 2012. For now, watch our behind the scenes film shot on the set of XV:
Matthew Williamson is launching a limited edition collection of Swarovski encrusted dresses and clutches as part of the celebrations. The collection will be available exclusive on NET-A-PORTER from 31st October 2012 to coincide with the release of the special anniversary film.
