Spring Summer 2011 Inspiration

For Spring Summer 2011 Matthew took inspiration from the work of photographer Hubertus Von Hohenlohe’s book “Urban Jungles”.

Materialising into a vision of a spirited city dweller marooned on a desert island, the collection sees a juxtaposition of synthetic and natural elements.

“Urban Jungles”, the critically acclaimed book by 51 year old Hubertus Von Hohenlohe, chronicles the photographs of his renaissance as he “explores the urban jungle of the big city, camouflaging his identity to the point of nonexistence, all in the service of the main theme of his life: visibility”.

Matthew took particular inspiration from a series of photos which combine modern aesthetics blurred with nature, creating the key contrast seen throughout the SS11 collection.
